Happy October Fellow Gardeners!

Just a few updates before we get to our BIG news....

The Planting Classes are going great!
EarthBoxes, Smart Pots, Lettuces, Kales, Garlic, etc. We even carried on in the heat of last Monday! Here's the Schedule again:http://twodognursery.com/planting-class-signup.html Have a look and sign up! They Classes are always fun, casual, and informative. Make this the season to expand your gardening horizons!

The GROW 2010 LA Hydroponics Convention begins today; we delivered more than 200 plants to the Organizers, urbangardenmagazine.com for their Teaching Demonstrations. And the great folks from Smart Pots, who came in from Oklahoma, also hired us to deliver 4 very large Smart Pots full of veggies, herbs and flowers to their booth too! Smart Pots wants us to deliver to their booth again in 2 weeks at another Gardening Convention in Long Beach. Feels like another area of business to develop!

Speaking of Smart Pots, all the root crops (plus a very happy zucchini) we planted in them are doing great: Mixed Beets, Potatoes and Garlic. They're a perfect compliment to our beloved EarthBox. We have them now at the Farmers Markets; 20-gallon size for $14.95.

On the 13th we're hosting the Little Gardening Club of Pasadena for a tour and sale here at the Home Nursery. We met their leader, Toni McCreary at the Pasadena Showcase House last Spring, and she thought it would be an interesting field trip. We're looking forward to having 20 or so of their members here. If any of you would like to do the same for your group, please give us a call at 323-422-3835.

As you have surely guessed from the picture above, our "big news" is that CCOF awarded us our Certified Organic Certificate! We're proud to be the only Certified retail Edible Nursery in the area!

Here's a list of the Top 10 Reasons to Buy Organic

NEW AT THE MARKET THIS WEEKEND: Spinach, Radicchio, and Arugula!

That's about it for now. Thanks for your support, and we'll see you at the Markets!
